I'm really curious to how the new DB12 drives. It looks so darn good. And the new Vantage - again, looks so darn good. The previous Vantage was interesting.

Ferrari 12 Cilindri Announced

 By: patrick_y : May 3rd, 2024-12:29
New Ferrari 12 Cilindri looks in-cohesive in my non-expert opinion. I do not have a Master of Fine Arts nor any deep work experience in the art world. Surely, the performance will be phenomenal. The engine is still naturally aspirated with approximately 8...

Corvette C8 in the front, Aston Martin in the back.

 By: Uncle Chico : May 3rd, 2024-17:06
But it will make no difference for buyers.

Hehehe, yes!

 By: amanico : May 3rd, 2024-17:21

It certainly looks beautiful. Thanks for the pictures, Patrick.

 By: GWIS : May 3rd, 2024-12:54
I agree that the name, and other Italian car model names, like Quattroporte, are a bit daft and yet they sound exotic to a native English speaker. If Aston Martin called one of their cars the "Two Door" they would be ridiculed by the UK motoring press. Bu...

Bene bene bene! La Dolce Vita!

 By: patrick_y : May 3rd, 2024-12:57
So true! Thank you for your straightforward yet totally on-point analysis. Especially to Americans - anything in Italian sounds great. I understand very little Italian - and yet I still like Puccini Operas. What Italian opera aria shall I listen to today?...

When I was in Italy visiting long-lost relatives in the '80s...

 By: mdg : May 3rd, 2024-16:06
...they would say, "La Macchina" (the machine) for 'Car.' Will we walk? No, we'll take the machine into town. I thought it amusing : )

Exactly.

 By: fmc000 : May 4th, 2024-07:45
I really don't understand why we Italians tend to give names to our cars that English native speakers will find almost impossble to pronounce correctly. Youtube is full of car contents where even car owners are completely incapable of pronouncing the name...

Translates to 12 Cylinder,

Looks to me quite a bit line the Roma coupe. I don't think it is ugly, but it not beautiful to me either.

Roma looks nice to me.

 By: patrick_y : May 4th, 2024-02:49

My thought with this and other so called super cars is..

 By: penfriend : May 3rd, 2024-13:05
That as the first world men become more and more fat this seems to apply proportionally to their cars. Especially with Ferrari, Porsche and Aston imo; Lamborghini not that much

there are always exceptions from the rule

 By: penfriend : May 3rd, 2024-16:13
driving light-weight cars ;-)

Right! :)

 By: amanico : May 3rd, 2024-16:29

Go to Vancouver...

 By: patrick_y : May 4th, 2024-02:51
Almost all of the people driving fancy cars (lots of Lamborghinis and Ferraris) are all very well fed kids from one country.

It's official folks, i'm old. Prefer the older designs.

 By: enjoythemusic : May 3rd, 2024-13:47
The new ones over the past decade or two sure look modern, and they surely measure well in a wind tunnel too. Am also sure all those onboard computers can assist even someone with minimal piloting talent to achieve ok lap times. But there's something insi...

I like the older designs too...

 By: patrick_y : May 4th, 2024-02:53
I really like the 575M, the 599, and the F12. 812 was a little edgy for me, but still beautiful. This one, I'm not sure I like so much. Shouldn't make too many judgments until I see it in person though.

Solid chocies. Am more a 1950s to 1980s guy.

 By: enjoythemusic : May 4th, 2024-12:43
Personally, was only able to enjoy a Euro-spec 308GTS QV for both public roadways and road course tracking for a few years until the engine needed a complete rebuild from tracking her )... Look at the subtle curves and lines and humps and... if you really...

+1! Sadly, not many Ferrari owners wax their own cars these days.

 By: patrick_y : May 5th, 2024-22:33
And I have to admit that I'm cheating too - I use the spray wax nowadays.

A real pity.

 By: amanico : May 6th, 2024-04:58

Wash, clay bar, dual-action buffer....

 By: enjoythemusic : May 6th, 2024-12:24
If you truly want to get 'intimate' with your car... caressing her every sensual curve is a good start

Absolutely!

 By: amanico : May 6th, 2024-16:03

I only recently got my clay bar out...

 By: patrick_y : May 8th, 2024-02:32
It's never been son hard from lack of use!

LOL!!!

 By: amanico : May 9th, 2024-23:00

Agree that the design isn't the most cohesive

 By: TeutonicCarFan : May 3rd, 2024-13:52
At least in pictures. In different livery will change the look for sure and I bet would be a stunner in all red or all black.

Can't get rid of the black front part.

 By: patrick_y : May 4th, 2024-02:53
That's a "required in black" portion of the car.

Hm interesting

 By: TeutonicCarFan : May 4th, 2024-12:27
I guess I'll just have to search for a manual 599 🀣

Ooooh la la!

 By: patrick_y : May 5th, 2024-22:33

While I like it....

 By: NautNut : May 3rd, 2024-14:28
...I too believe it looks a little Ian Callum inspired (Aston Martin). Not that that is a bad thing.

From the front, to die for. From the back or 3/4, less so for me

 By: xto : May 3rd, 2024-14:57
And I have to admit that at my age 812 hp would probably lead to trouble

Well I wouldn’t throw it out of bed…

 By: myles721 : May 3rd, 2024-15:03
having said that I think ICE car design is played out…the future (like it or not) will belong to the conformities of EV design limitations…

Interesting! Hadn't thought of that part yet!

 By: patrick_y : May 4th, 2024-02:56
EV effecting ICE car designs! I mostly thought the other direction, ICE influencing EV designs.

It looks electric to me, so not a fan.

 By: jp884 : May 3rd, 2024-15:25
For me pinnacle modern Ferrari was the 458 Speciale. I may circle back and get one in the future but I promised my wife I would give car purchases a break. Plus I need to enjoy what I have before adding another.

458 would be a strong contender to me too!

 By: patrick_y : May 4th, 2024-02:57
Naturally aspiration is definitely a very emotional experience!

I do like these Ferrari GT car formulas...

 By: patrick_y : May 4th, 2024-02:58
They haven't made a bad one - I'm not a huge fan of the 456, but generally, I do like this front engine GT car formula.

The unusual feature is the rear window

 By: JohnFM : May 3rd, 2024-16:07
... which looks interesting from above but possibly odd from the back (would need to see more pictures). The front looks a little like a fish with an open mouth. Other than that, it has nice, if slightly generic, modern sports car lines. Is this all due t...

How about we all pool our money and try to get on the list...

 By: mdg : May 3rd, 2024-16:08
...we'll all get rejected and can console ourselves on this forum : )

😳

 By: nasseriq : May 3rd, 2024-16:28

:)))

 By: amanico : May 3rd, 2024-16:30

Actually....

 By: InHavenPro : May 3rd, 2024-17:12
I happen to like this design more than any other they have come up with over the past twenty odd years.... In my opinion, it is simple yet effective. It doesn't come across as trying too hard, which most of their styling has to me in modern times. I look ...

 By: InHavenPro : May 4th, 2024-03:18
That the local SoCal dealers all have demonstration vehicles, so I'm sure I'll get to driving one this summer or fall.... My 'problem' is that once I've specced one the way I fancy it most, it nudges $350K before taxes, and it still doesn't have a V12 πŸ˜‘.....

350k???? Yikes!

 By: patrick_y : May 5th, 2024-22:31

I know!

 By: InHavenPro : May 5th, 2024-22:34
In my opinion, too much for a car that doesn't even have a V12. I wouldn't actually spend more than $300K on the V8 version, I don't think it computes otherwise....

DB12

 By: InHavenPro : May 6th, 2024-05:39
But ... For that kind of money, it ought to have a V12 engine!! πŸ˜‘

It starts at $250K....

 By: InHavenPro : May 6th, 2024-05:41
And the options are ridiculously expensive !! Especially if you opt for a specialty paint which can cost $20K on its own....

I know....

 By: InHavenPro : May 6th, 2024-06:03
I'm waiting to see what happens before this winter, and then I'll make the most sensible emotional decision possible LoL 😁😊....

😍😍😍😍

 By: Weems@8 : May 3rd, 2024-17:20
Sublima! 365 that steer and drive like a modern car with all the comfort u need. I hope for the spider, yes, that is of the famous tv series.

Why do many sharp angles?

 By: Henke : May 3rd, 2024-17:54
And all the black plasticky looking parts? Where are the flowing lines of the 458 and f12? Paint it grey, give me earplugs and I would mistake it for a Hyundai ioniq...

Yikes!

 By: patrick_y : May 4th, 2024-03:04
Is there a Ferrari or fancy car brand that you do like?

Imo

 By: Henke : May 4th, 2024-03:31
The 458 is probably the most beautiful car in recent memory for me...so I definitely don't have anything against Ferraris! If I got a recent Ferrari though, it would probably be the FF - I have a soft spot for quirky cars. I just can't stand the new trend...

MehπŸ₯±. Too fluid. More like vegetable than animal.

 By: Gelato Monster : May 4th, 2024-02:45
Personally I never liked 365 Daytona.

πŸ˜€

 By: Gelato Monster : May 4th, 2024-05:43

IMHO the front is quite beautiful.

 By: Gelato Monster : May 4th, 2024-05:45
The rest is not for me
